Introduction To Voiceover – Straight Talk About Talking
SOME QUESTIONS TO CONTEMPLATE
Everyone tells me I have a great voice, so this should be easy, right? I love that people love your voice. But just because you have a great voice isn’t a guarantee that you’ll be a great voice actor. Think about it this way. Just because I have a nice camera doesn’t make me a professional photographer. Or just because I have a high-quality pots and pans doesn’t mean I’m a chef. However, you can train to become a great voice actor. Yes, yes, you can!
Can I break into the industry within a few months? Well, no one really “breaks in” to the industry. You’ll have to work hard and earn your way through with your amazing talent behind the mic and your up-to-date business and marketing skills.
How long will it take before I can start earning money? It’s different for everyone. You’ll have to run your own race here.
Can’t I just produce my own demo to get started? It can’t be that hard, right? Wrong. A professionally produced demo is truly the way to showcase your skills and talent as a voice actor. And, no, producing a great demo isn’t easy. It’s a skill. Plus, a professional demo producer will only produce a demo for you when you’re ready. Being ready means that you know exactly what to do when you’re handed a script. In Rhonda’s humble opinion, if you have not had any coaching or proper industry training, you’re not ready. Unfortunately, there are some not-so¬professional producers out there who will gladly take your money and produce a demo for you today, ready or not! This course will teach you why you do NOT want to make this costly mistake.
Can I make fast money by working in voiceover? Sorry folks. Voiceover isn’t the industry for you if this is your plan. While you’re training and coaching, you may not want to quit your day job.
